We could not help but drop in to pay our respects to Harold Kirkham while we were in Arnhem , he was a member of our family who was a paratrooper in world war 2 who took part in operation market garden .

Now the conference is over time for time out with hubby. Best made plans we decided to take the motor home to the Hull boat instead of the Portsmouth one! Proofed to be a beautiful night, and a holiday full of European promise !!!

Quilters Guild Conference 2014

I have finally arrived in Portsmouth and looking forward to meeting friends and fellow quilters

Coiled pot

I have been working on Africa as an inspiration . This is my first attempt at a coiled pot African lady . I am off to Portsmouth at the weekend for the quilt conference so I think I will be working on her coiled pots on the train . Never sit idle my Grandmother used to say , if she could see me now. ! 

I think I will have to work on her arms she has no muscles poor thing .

This 11th century church is only 12 miles from me , it is amazing what is just around your corner and you do not even realise it
