One week later the weather couldn't be more different, time to pull out the wellies and woolly hats ! 

Ruskin Lace

Last Wednesday the Stitching Group spent a lovely afternoon at The home of Ruskin, Brantwood House,  we had a talk from Wendy Young on the history of Ruskin Lace and she gave us a demonstration on how it is made . 

Midsummer

English garden , lovely sunshine , glass of wine , what more ? 

Oops ! What happens when you have dyed your hands and you realise you are going out for a posh meal tonight .......oh dear  

Naughty but nice

Welsh cakes, bara brith and cream tea just had to be done in the beautiful town of Conway, the visit would not be complete without a visit to the castle

AGM

As it was a lovely sunny day I went for a walk on the pier could resist an ice cream but I was surprised at the kiosk selling sea shells and lace ! What a combination ! I expect that it has got something to do with the fact that Llandudno is an old Victorian sea side town. In fact Victorian was the theme for the quilters guild AGM this year

Welsh choir

I was  booked on Ruth Browns workshop but sadly  she was unable to come due to ill health so i spent a lovely afternoon withAnn Gosling who is the treasurer of the guild ' Quilting the Welsh Way ' 

The evening was finished off listening to a beautiful Welsh choir with a glass of wine .

Self indulgence

I have just come back from travelling with my friend Gillian we went to the Czech Republic Slovakia and Austria, I will post some pictures when I have sorted them out but I took 100's as usual so it will take me a bit of time !!! 

On return I spent a bit of quality time with Ian and we went to the good food show in Harrogate . It was a real self indulgent day taking me away completely from sewing and textiles lots of foodie samples to try including gin samples !! Now I must get down to some sewing , my next travelling journal should be on its way 

happy Easter

I have been making these little hats for Easter. The grand kids love them but poor old hubby is thinking that the men in white coats might be coming to collect me soon !!! Happy Easter xx

Shibori

I have been trying out the unpredictable art of Shibori again , its getting a little better and the coverage is more even . There are still some to untie but i have run out of space on the dyeing clothes line. I darn't use the other line other wise the men in my life may get more stripes on their shirts than expected !!! I still have some more in the bucket ready to hang but  I have come to the conclusion this is a summer job !!! My hands are freezing . Hope the indigo takes ok as usually it loves the sunshine
